Tim Tebow for Heisman

September 24th, 2007 | by Ethanator1088 |

This is a man we are talking about. Tim Tebow will be in New York in December. There is no doubt in my mind. He is the leader of that team. The Florida Gators are very average without him. They almost lost to Ole Miss this week. They won because Mr. Tebow carried them on his back the whole game.  I say that because he set a school record of 166 rushing yards for a quarterback. And believe me, when you start breaking QB records at Florida, people notice.

Im not going to dispute the fact that Tim Tebow is good, he is, but lets wait until he plays someone that has a halfway decent defense. As of today, Florida has played Western Kentucky, Troy, and Tennesee, and according to my numbers, they rank 28th in the Nation in passing yards per game. I dont think that is Heisman like numbers. I think that he will be there but only because ESPN has deemed him the Golden Boy of College Football.

He has been so deemed, because his neck is as thick as my thigh. He could be the nations top Tightend/Runningback. He has the build of the perfect football player and he won a national championship last year. His team is undefeated this year.

I do not think I am jumping the gun, but thanks for another comment Mr. Abercrombie.

Just to add to this argument. Last yr. Chris Leak won the NC with Tebow playing a supporting role. There is no way Tebow would have taken them to the title game last yr. being that he was a true freshman and didn’t know the offense. There is no doubt Tebow will be in NY this yr. but he has not carried the team through battles as of yet. Let him go through some more tough SEC games and then we can tell if he is for real or not.

I say that they would not of even come close to the Nat. Title game without Tebow last year. I say that they would have lost 2-3 games. Chris Leak was good but he was not the best QB for Meyers offensive scheme. Tebow is even better than Alex Smith at the scheme. Awesome comment Dale.
