Attention casual SEC Fans!!! Kentucky is 1st in the East, undefeated, and ranked #8 in the nation. South Carolina is 4-1 and ranked #11 in the nation. You know the SEC is stacked when 2 of our least known teams are ranked in the top 11 in the nation.
Enough about this great conference and on to the pick.
I pick Kentucky to continue the year of the Wildcat. Well, it will be the year of the Wildcat until they go up against LSU next week.
I think that Kentucky is on too much of a roll to be slowed down by a USC team that has shown many weaknesses.
The red shirt freshman, Smelley, will have no idea what hit him. I think this will be the 1st time the ole ball coach will be in his ear hole the whole game. Spurrier can kill a QB’s confidence in 60 minutes. One minute he is one of the best recruits in the nation, the next minute he has Spurrier’s visor getting slammed to the ground at his feet.
It has been a little funny watching Spurrier “put up with” Blake Mitchell. I think he has been a little light on Mitchell because he did not recruit him. You know that he wishes Blake was just a little better. You know that he wished that he could get in the game and play QB himself.
Now that Mitchell is riding the pine, Smelley will get the full brunt of Spurriers blasts. I do not think that he will ” put up with” Smelley. I think he will ride him to be the best QB he can be , or ride him into the ground.
Kentucky on the other hand has a great deal of talent lead by QB Andre Woodson. They have a hot coach in Rich Brooks. They are the feel good story of the SEC and they will not be slowed down this week.
