Tennessee vs Arkansas, prediction

Posted on 06 November 2007 by Ethan Jaynes

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks. This is a huge game. If everyone in the country knew what good football was, this would be on major TV. Right now, it is on ESPN Gameplan. These two teams are on the upswing.

Arkansas showed us all a glimpse in the past. They looked like the 2006 Razorbacks Saturday night. McFadden ran for an SEC record 323 rushing yards. He also threw a touchdown. Monk was in the game a little and caught a TD. That was the first time this year that I would consider Arkansas good. That was the first time this year that Houston Nutt looked good. He reminds me a lot of Dubose. Shawn Alexander carried Dubose, and I think that McFadden, Jones, and Monk are carrying Nutt. The year after Alexander left, Dubose left. :-)

Tennessee has won five out of their last six. Arian Foster has a lot to do with that. He has rushed for a TD in all of those games, and he had more than 20 carries 2 times. His efficient running takes pressure off Ainge. By establishing the run with few attempts, it gives Ainge more passing attempts. Fulmer looks good when his team is at least a little balanced. He does not look good when he wears a sweater-vest. :-)

This is going to be a great game. It is very hard to predict. You do not know which team is going to show up for Arkansas. Tennessee looks a little more stable. On paper, it looks a lot like the Arkansas vs. South Carolina game. You just do not know if Arkansas will show up like they did in that game.

I think that they will. I think that DMac is back to save Nutts job. They are already bowl bound. This is icing on the cake. Dmac might not break any records in this game. With McFadden, Jones, and Monk all playing well, you have to give the game to Arkansas. I think that Run DMC will pick up at least 150 yards and stay in the top two for the Heisman race.

Tenn. won. They hold their own destiny in the East. McFadden has to get 200-300 for Arkansas to win I guess. I think that last weeks Ark. game was just a glimpse into the 2006 season but this game was the 2007 reality. Arkansas is not one of the SEC elite. They still might go to a bowl though.:-)
