Tommy Tuberville is going nowhere. He is not going to Texas A & M. Please listen to my few points and realize that this will not happen
1. Texas A & M has way too much competition. They have college competition from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, and several others. Those colleges are either on the same playing field or on light years ahead of Texas A & M. They also have to compete with pro sports like Cowboys, Texans, Spurs, Mavericks, Rangers, Astros, and several others.
Alabama has two teams. Those teams are Auburn and Alabama. Tommy T is competing with only one other team right now. He owns half of the state. Auburn is one of the top college towns in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee combined. He also gets a good bit of Florida exposure from being so close.
2. College station is in the past. It is small. It is old. There will not be another Junction Boy’s moment. They have fallen off the college football map. There are only few teams that can comeback from a fall like that. University of Alabama is one of those schools and they are doing it right now. The same reasons that Auburn is a good school to coach at are the same reasons that Alabama has made such a strong comeback. Alabama was DOWN just last year. They are on a huge upswing.
3. Tommy Tuberville is not that much better than Franchione. I am not making fun of coach Tubs. I am simply stating that he cannot go there and do better than Franchione did. Tuberville is a mere mortal. A lot of people thought coach Fran was a genius untill he showed up in College Station.
4. Tuberville showed interest in the LSU job when Saban left and got a raise. That is all he is doing this time.
5. Auburn has been one of the premier college football teams in the nation for the past several years. This would be a huge step down.
6. He loves it in Auburn.
7. Almost everyone from “Jet Gate” has been run off, and he has been left standing tall.
8. How much money would it take to ruin your career, reputation, and lifestyle? Ask coach Fran if he could hit the rewind button. Coach Fran could have done big things at Alabama, if he could have made it through the probation. He was on a roll, if you remember.
If he leaves, it will be one of the worst decisions ever. He is leaving a great situation, and going to a no win situation.

Good points. Can’t argue with that. What’s your take on Houston Nutt? Staying or going?

Today I got a little bit of a hate mail response to this post. Let me be clear. Texas A & M has a great history. They might have more history. It is a great college.
They have a lot of obstacles. Auburn has few in comparison.

Being a Georgia Fan , I hope Tuberville does stay as he is a great coach and has been good for Auburn.

tuberville is a fucking idiot. he said himself that he should have played Burns, but he didn’t. because he’s letting his offensive cordinator make the decision. which is not right because the only reason Td is playing is because he followed the offensive coach. Also because he’s in a 5th grade spat with the defensive coach. he need’s to quit worrying about the politics and play f***in football.
