The State of the Saban Nation, after the 9-11 and Pearl Harbor comparison
November 21st, 2007 | by Ethanator1088 |This Is The State of the Saban Nation. Well the population of Saban Nation is two. It consists of Saban and this woman that gave him a kiss as he got off the plane.
Saban has three straight losses. The LSU loss was a hit on the chin. The Miss. State loss was a hit in the gut. The La Monroe loss was a sweep kick that has left Saban on the ground. He has shown a few of his true colors to the local media. He has yelled at them and he even compared the loss to the Louisiana Monroe Indians to 9-11 and Pearl Harbor. It takes a special kind of narcissistic person to step inside of your own ego so far as to say something like that. The Alabama spokesperson said he did not mean to compare those things to the unfortunate loss, but he did. I hope even the most ardent Bama fan sees that this was wrong.
I foresee Saban keeping quiet until after the Iron Bowl. He is so “Identity” conscious that he will do nothing except apologize for his comments, and get ready for the game. He is smart. He was known as a genius just a couple weeks ago. That does not change. He will be forever linked to his unfortunate comments that he hastily made.
I leave you with this nice clip of Saban. He spoke to a crowd in Bham shortly after he was hired. With all of this negative publicity, I would like to remind you that he can be nice. After all, if he beats Auburn on Saturday, all will be forgiven. ![]()

His delivery was way off. “World War II, whatever…” What the heck, man!? World War II, whatever!? If he’s going to try to make comparisons he needs to let the world know he cares. Preface it with “I know football doesn’t compare, but if you look at…” Do something! Not “World War II, whatever”. His comments were bad, but his delivery was worse.

This was a terrible comparison. Being a huge football fan yet being a proud American I think his choice was awful.
In the big scheme of life there is no comparison to the lose of live in these two events in history and a football game.
What a horrible choice on his part to even begin to compare the two situations.
