SEC Football 2008 Season Predictions
August 21st, 2008 | by Ethan Jaynes |SEC Football 2008 Season Predictions. SEC Football Blogger is known for two things, and two things only. I do SEC Football Videos and Predictions. Lets do the thing. Please leave a comment below.
SEC West Predictions
1. Auburn. They have great schedule. They have a ton of talent. The spread offense is relatively easy to figure out and the new offensive Coordinator, Tony Franklin, is a spread offense genius.
2. LSU. You can not be that lucky every year. I am sorry. It is Auburn’s turn. The QB problems are huge for a team that had so many clutch passes and drives last year. This year will be a huge test for Les Miles.
3. Alabama. Alabama is the dark horse of the SEC West. Can John Parker Wilson get it together? Will Saban prove himself this year or next. It seems like it is just a matter of time.
4. Mississippi State. Croom and company have a good thing going down there. They had a taste of bowling and really liked it. They have something that they have not had for a good while in Starkville, RESPECT.
5. Ole Miss. Houston Nutt may not be the best coach, but he gets the job done. I really like what Croom is doing at State, but Nutt could move past them next year. RESPECT is going to come back to Mississippi football. I really do think so. These coaches are not the best, but they will make sure the teams play hard and work hard.
6. Arkansas. Houston Nutt knew when to leave. This team has nothing and the new coach is over rated. Petrino should have stayed in the Big East. He did not need to go to the NFL, and he did not need to come to the SEC. He gave up on his team when Vick had his problems. I wonder if he knew that Dmac and Jones were both going pro.
SEC East Predictions
1. Florida. Wow! I am sorry Georgia fans. I just can not get over Tim Tebow. I also think that no one else should. The whole season rests on him. He was the only Sophomore to ever win the Heisman. That is kind of a big deal. He broke so many records that he not allowed near the radio station…. Pause for laughter.
2. Georgia. Knowshon Moreno will be the deciding factor. I really wanted to pick Georgia Number 1. I really did. If Coach Richt can keep the team focused on winning, and not get on an emotional roller-coaster like last year, they have a chance at the National Championship. Florida seriously got my vote by a hair.
3. Tennessee. This is my dark horse for the SEC East. Coach Fulmer has always got talent in Knoxville. He has got a running back in Arian Foster. We all saw what a good running back did for Houston Nutt. Houston Nutt owes his last 2 years of employment at Arkansas to Dmac.
4. South Carolina. I refuse to believe that Spurrier will pull out another stinker. I just can not see that happening. I see them going to an OK bowl and a couple of good wins during the season.
5. Kentucky. They might go bowling. I am not sure. How will the spread look under new leadership. Brooks has them believing in something. I like it.
6. Vandy. Sorry guys. The cellar in the SEC is better than the cellar in the Big East. Trust me.

John Parker had a bad run last year but he still broke the school record. As for Saban, he had a winning season last year. He’ll really prove himself this year. Check out this memorabilia of Bear Bryant and a bunch of SEC teams.
