Alabama vs Kentucky, Prediction, 2008

Kentucky FootballAlabama vs Kentucky, Prediction, 2008. If you know anything about my predictions, you know I sometimes call for the upset special. I do not always go with everyone else.

Kentucky is undefeated. Their best win comes from in-state rival Louisville. Rich Brooks is coming off a year where he  got a lot of votes for National Coach of the Year. Kentucky does not have the talent that Alabama has, but the spread offense can sometimes be a neutralizer. The Wildcats will always keep defenses guessing.

Rich BrooksAlabama is on a flat ROLL. They are riding high off the win from Georgia. Their freshman talent is shining. The coaching seams spot on. They are ranked #2 in the nation. But, can they stop a let down. Kentucky is going to be ready for this game. Is Alabama going to deflate after last weeks HUGE win?

The answer is no. There will be no upset here. :-) Alabama showed us all that they have great coaching. The Nick Saban era has arrived. What happened last year against Louisiana Monroe should never happen again. Alabama fans are excited and they should be.  I give Kentucky a 10% chance.

I think you’re right. Kentucky has a GOOD team this year but I don’t think they have what it takes to beat Alabama right now. They’re playing at Bryant-Denny with 92,000+ screaming Crimson Tide fans . Kentucky has done a good job at manhandling teams this year, but they haven’t played an SEC Game yet, much less a team ranked in the top 5. I suspect it might be close, but Im giving this one to Bama.

Well, this is the time of year for upsets. Alabama has all the right stuff this year and I do not think they are goin down this time. But, watch out, those cats are gonna score and score big.

[...] a trap game. If they avoid the post-Georgia letdown, the Tide should roll — that seems to be the consensus anyway. As for Kentucky, this game represents a barometer to see where the undefeated Wildcats [...]
