Do You think college coaches should be leaders in the community and in the locker room? Do you think that is is necessary to do that? Do you think that has a lot to do with being a good coach? Do you think that it has a lot to do with your vote for Coach of the Year?

Well, it is a big deal to me. I love it when I see a coach with his team on a habitat for humanity house. I know I have seen Mark Richt on one of those. It teaches the kids to give back. It helps mold them to be better people and citizens. Not everyone is going to the NFL, and I am glad coaches mentor the students.

It also helps the community. You have to ask yourself, is winning the only thing? Is that the only thing that matters? A lot of people just look at the win collumn when it comes to college coaches, but there is a lot more that goes into it. When you vote for the College Coach of the year, what do you look for?

When I saw coach Richt building those houses, he gained so much respect in my eyes. One of the coolest parts about it was that all the players that were helping looked like they were having fun. They were learning so much. So, my questions of the day are, do you think it is important for coaches to help out in the community, will that effect your vote for coach of the year, and Can you share with me some instance where you saw an SEC coach helping out the community?

Remember to vote for the Liberty Mutual, Coach of the Year . The award recognizes the college football coach in each NCAA division that best demonstrates sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility and excellence. Unlike other coaching awards given out in college football, the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award allows fans to have a say in who wins, and truly focuses on a coach?s actions off the field as much as on.

More than just a trophy, the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award provides each winning coach with $50,000 to donate to one or more charitable organizations of his choice and a $20,000 grant to donate to his school’s alumni association to enhance student scholarships and activities. As of last year, $300,000 has been donated to charity, and $100,000 given to alumni associations.

At coachoftheyear.com, fans can vote once each day for the coach they think is most deserving of the award, share comments about their favorite coach, download digital banners to promote their coach, see real-time vote standings and download a widget to stay up-to-date and vote right from their desktop.
