Florida vs Tennessee, Prediction Pick, 2009. You could also call this game Lane Kiffin vs Urban Meyer. Lane Kiffin has burst onto the SEC football landscape with a bunch trash talk, West coast style of doing things, accusations, and a top 15 recruiting class. Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators just keep on winning, but they have taken notice of the new mouth of the South. How could they not notice.

From the moment that Kiffin stepped into the coaching role for the Vols, he has talked about how sweet it will be when they beat Florida this week. It seems like that his number one role is to beat Florida this week, or at least to get everyone focused on it. It even caused a Florida player to say that if he saw Kiffin on the street that he would not say anything, because he would have nothing to say to that Bozo.
But how will all the trash talk work into the actual game? The game is played on the field and not in the papers or on the message boards. Tennessee talke the talk, and even walked the walk in their first game. Crompton had 5 TD passes. Against UCLA they crashed back to Earth and now Crompton has 5 TD passes and 5 Interceptions. Florida just keeps on winning and winning by a lot.
I pick Florida to win and to win big. Tennessee will most likely grow from these last 2 games, and I still have them going bowling. This loss is inevitable. Florida is better at every aspect of the game, and Crompton can not be expected to get better and overcome all the other factors in just 1 week. I would say that Florida by 30 would be a low prediction. Florida’s second team will be in in the 3rd, and will still move the ball with authority.

Is there really any doubt as to how this game is going to go in two days. Poor Tennessee feels that they have a chance. Its just not fair to have hope like they do. No one should expect anything but the complete domination by the Florida Gators in this one. It’s their first SEC game and it’s going to be just a display of how the remainder of the season is going to go.. Come one just give them the SEC trophy and lets move on.. BCS is all they are worried about and they are going to get there unless there is a freak moment of retardation on the side of the voting and they get cheated, but that is highly unlikely. GO Gators and to all you UT fans, get ready to cry and dont forget your tissues.

Florida is a great team and will probably win being at home and having a team with more experience. However, Florida fans are ridiculous if they think their team is going to score 50+ points on TN. I’ve even heard 70+ points from a few people…that’s just stupid! They only managed 30 last year and our defense is much more disciplined this year and our run game is stronger. I can see a Florida win by a couple TD’s, but most of what I hear is ridiculous.
Most of this speculation has to do with how the VOLS performed against UCLA. One shouldn’t overlook the fact that UCLA has a pretty solid defense which will be more evident as the season moves on. It is my prediction that UCLA will play in a prominent bowl this year and will make some serious noise in the Pac-10. TN did have several chances to win the game and dominated statistically.
TN will be a better team this week and FL fans: don’t be surprised if TN makes a few plays early and this thing is much closer than everyone is predicting. We can run the ball and that will keep FL’s offense off the field. We don’t have a good defense, but a great defense, so don’t expect ridiculous numbers. We may not be able to score lots of points, but we’re not giving them up that easily either.

I predict 40 pts. atleast. Crompton will choke when he feels the preasure from florida’s explosive defense. I agree that florida’s second string will come in at the third quarter and move the ball well.

Apologies and respect should be given to Tennessee and to Lane Kiffin. He looks a little smarter today doesn’t he? This is the beginning of the end of Florida’s run of championships. If TN had a QB, the Gators would have lost. I predict this to be the last win in a while against TN.
With all the hype and talk about running up the score, Florida couldn’t manage to look impressive AT HOME against unranked TN.

You know, I don’t look at Ethan’s projection as wrong. I look as my projection as completely awesome.
