Helping a Friend

Posted on 18 August 2009 by Ethan Jaynes

Please read this Red Sox Monster post. Sports are a fun part of life, and now cancer has crept into everyone one of our lives as well. We all have sports stories and cancer stories. My uncle died just a few weeks ago of cancer. This Auburn football season will be a lot different, not talking to him. Going to his son’s football games on Friday nights will be a lot different, as well. Give what you can to her fund. Thanks so much!

SEC Football Blogger has a new Co-Editor and Lead Writer, Andrew Rosin

Posted on 10 August 2009 by Ethan Jaynes

SEC Football Blogger has a new Co-Editor and Lead Writer, Andrew Rosin. Don’t worry, you are not getting rid of me. I will still be here, but me and Andrew plan on tackling this football season head on. We plan on having fun. We are still gathering interns to write, so drop us an email if you are interested.

During the next few weeks, we are going to iron out the wrinkles, so the season will be awesome. Please subscribe and leave comments. Join us on this magic carpet ride. I am very excited about this. The talented Andrew Rosin is best known for his blog The Grand National Championships, and he is well known on Twitter as @TheGNC. ( Follow us both I am @EthanJaynes). I asked Mr. Rosin to write a blurb for our Featured Writers page, and this is what he had to say.

“Now, I’m not the man who you’d expect to be a huge fan of the greatest confluence of skill since Ocean’s 11, but when I sat down to take in the second half of a game between Kentucky and LSU. I have to say that I was hooked. A national power taking on a scrappy underdog. And in three overtimes? Kentucky got the win.

So I may be a recent convert to the world of Bayou Bengals and World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Parties, but you know that just means I’m ready to spread the word. We’re gonna have some fun here. On a threat level scale? Color me Ed Ogeron.

Whoo and whatnot.

Andrew Rosin”

SEC Football Blogger: Featured Writers

Posted on 15 May 2009 by Ethan Jaynes

SEC Football Blogger: Featured Writers. This is your new team that will be giving you SEC Football opinions, news, predictions, and videos. The season is getting closer and closer. Give us feedback by comments on what you like and dislike. Thanks.

If you are interested in writing for “SEC Football Blogger” contact me @ EthanJaynes@Comcast.net

Ethan Jaynes: I am the site Owner, Writer, and Co-Editor. My about page is here. I live in Northeast Alabama. I am a huge Auburn fan. I try to be unbiased, but sometimes I fail miserably. I hope you enjoy the site, and come back all season.

Andrew Rosin: Co-Editor and Lead Writer: His Feed: Now, I’m not the man who you’d expect to be a huge fan of the greatest confluence of skill since Ocean’s 11, but when I sat down to take in the second half of a game between Kentucky and LSU.

Ryan Morgan: His Feed: My name is Ryan Morgan and I’m a soon-to-be graduate of Johnson Bible College.  I’m 23, and live in Knoxville, TN.  I’m an avid cook, Florida Gators fan, and fantasy reader and writer.  I’m also the Municipal Liaison of National Novel Writing Month, Knoxville and study foreign languages voraciously.

Corey Mitchel: His Feed: I’m a published sportswriter who’s covered a gamut of different sports ranging from the NBA to high school wrestling.  Been a supporter of the Denver Broncos since I was young, and am still fanatical about Bronco Country.  When not writing or watching sports, I like to spend time with my family, play basketball, and listen to and/or make music. I’ve lived in Atlanta for 17 years and want to share my sporting views with the masses.

SEC Chick: Her Feed : A sweet, southern girl who loves to talk football.

Knox McCoy: His Feed: When I pray at night, after I pray for friends, family, and health, I thank God for two things: American Idol and SEC Football.
But I also thank Him for some other things:

  • For the Clausen brothers, The Grove, and Steve Spurrier’s visor.
  • For the Vol walk, the Fun ‘N Gun, and Hal Mumme’s towel.
  • For houndstooth hats, The Swamp, and Jackie Sherrill’s unorthodox motivational techniques.
  • For Houston Nutt’s cell phone records, Auburn’s clumsy job interviews, and Ed Orgeron’s shirtless chants.
  • For Mike Price’s salacious behavior, Mike Dubose’s secretarial indiscretions, and Mike Shula’s ineptitude.
  • For David Green and David Pollack, the Brothers Manning, and perhaps most majestically, the mullet of Steve Taneyhill.
  • Simply put, of all the major conferences in the land, none match the SEC in talent, success, and regional intrigue. It is the only conference where the intensity on the field merges equally with the passion in the stands.
  • It is a brand of football that is a genre all to itself and it is a place where melodrama flows in greater volume than all the daytime soap operas combined.
  • For better or for worse, it is a cornerstone of Southern culture. And I thank God for that.
  • Knox McCoy lives in southeast Tennessee with his smoking hot wife, Ashley, their son, Rowe, and their dog, Ajax Leonard McCoy.

Here are some small changes to my blogs

Posted on 15 October 2008 by Ethan Jaynes

I am announcing some small changes to my blogs. I have 4 blogs now. I need to make sure they all have a direction.

NESW Sports will continue to bring the best sports videos that I find. There will not be any changes to NESW sports, except I will try to write more on the videos I post.

PWNED Video is my new blog. It is all about PWNED videos. You know, videos where people get PWNED. Everyone loves PWNED videos. :-)

SEC Football Blogger will continue on the same course. No changes there. I love me some SEC Football!

Homework 4 Dummies will be my new personal blog. The name makes no sense and a lot of the time, neither do I. :-)   I will also likely write about my son Aiden, my simple view on politics, my life, great videos that do not apply to the other blogs I have, and other my other happenings on that blog.

Please check them out, subscribe, and leave comments. Thanks!
